Does anyone know why power vented water heaters with warranties over 6 years don’t seem to exist? Thanks.

Bradford White offers a 10-year warranty on one of theirs. See:

A little more. I asked a friend at Bradford White about this. He says blowers can be one factor in shortened life, but that BW has stuck with North American-made blowers instead of Chinese ones like some of their competition because he thinks they hold up better. He also indicated that other manufacturers do have longer warranties, so you may not have hunted hard enough. I myself found some Rheems with 8-year warranties. Remember that the whole world isn’t encompassed by Home Depot and Lowes. Rheem and A.O. Smith sell in those places, but also have their own websites at rheem.com, hotwater.com and other sites for their subsidiaries and sub-brands. Bradfordwhite.com is naturally BW’s site.

Do any of the manufacturers offer extended warranty?May 2, 2021 at 10:43 am #26449
Yes. My friend said you could buy extended warranty in two-year increments. I think that’s on a six-year, and running up to 10. Can’t speak for the other makers.
